The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is one of the most popular, important and acclaimed RPGs of recent years, so millions of gamers have already tried it. That being said, you may be one of those who might have never laid a hand on it, and Bethesda wants this to change. For this reason, you can play Skyrim: Special Edition for free this weekend on PC and Xbox One.

The promotion is available on Steam and Xbox One, and you will have access to the full version of Skyrim: Special Edition. The test period will come to an end on PC at 1 PM PT/4 PM ET, on Sunday, September 10; for their part, Xbox One users will be able to play until 11:59 PM PT on Sunday, September 10.

While the trial period is open to anyone who wants to take advantage on Steam, the same can not be said of its version for Xbox One. The above is since you need to be an Xbox LIVE Gold subscriber to be able to download and play.

It’s likely that after playing a few hours you decide that Skyrim: Special Edition is worth it, so Bethesda has decided to offer the title at a reduced price over the next few days (the offer will end on September 18th on Xbox and on the 19th of the same month on Steam). Also, all those who purchase the full version can keep their progress.

The Special Edition of Skyrim is a remastered version The Elder Scrolls V which includes all the additional content. This release made its debut on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in October last year. It is worth mentioning that this RPG will arrive on Nintendo Switch before the end of the year.
