A Tweet of Hideki Kamiya is waking little interest in these hours: according to the reports from the Japanese producer, next week Platinum Games could announce a new IP on a not-well-defined magazine (probably Famitsu or Weekly Jump).
Recently on Twitter, Hideki Kamiya of Platinum Games has suggested that next week a new intellectual property of the studio might be announced in a magazine, presumably Famitsu or Weekly Jump. What could it be? Hard to say, however, it’s a great sign after the problems that PlatinumGames has had in the last months of Scalebound’s shipwreck, which was likely to fail the rankings of the studio.
The message is definitely cryptic and it is not excluded that it might be an ironic tweet, like other postings written by Kamiya in the past. We know that Platinum Games is working on a new original IP, and for some time we talk about the possible Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 ports for Nintendo Switch, although for the time being it is only speculations.
Fortunately, NieR: Automata was more successful than it was planned and saved the situation, giving fruit to its author, Yoko Taro. Someone also suggested that it could also be a new mobile title, given the gameplay in Japan. We are sincerely hoping in something bigger.
Is the Japanese studio ready to announce its next project? We’ll find it out in a few days for sure.
Next week…in game magazines… RT @KingNeroBarrage You have any plans for a new IP?
