The recent announcement of the arrival of Fortnite: Battle Royale to mobile devices and the integration of cross-play between the platforms on which the game is available sparked the expectation of seeing a shared gaming environment between PS4 and Xbox One. Recently Phil Spencer brought back the issue with a simple mention on the social network.
After Epic Games announced that Fortnite, in its Battle Royale mode, would enable cross-play between the different platforms that run the game – excluding shared game between PS4 and Xbox One – Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, expressed his desire that at some point, Sony and Microsoft consoles can share an online gaming environment.
Spencer responded positively to the comment of a user on Twitter, who asked for the arrival of the cross-play function between PS4 and Xbox One:

One day after Spencer’s response, Epic Games joined the idea and the company said it would also like Fortnite players on PS4 and Xbox One to compete with each other without being limited by one platform or another.

As you know, last year the theme of cross-play was one of the most talked about and although Microsoft’s position was always in favor, Sony did not give in and that has resulted in some games having the cross-play function enabled but in none of the cases can be carried out between PS4 and Xbox One.
However, we must remember that at some point Epic Games enabled shared game between PS4 and Xbox One in Fortnite due to a configuration problem.
At some point will we see cross-play between the consoles of Sony and Microsoft? Tell us in the comments below.
