The next relaunch of Phantom Dust – title that should not be confused with the completely new game of the franchise – that will take place on Xbox One and PC before the start of the E3 2017 event, in the words of Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, on his official Twitter account.

As Microsoft explained at E3, this new revival of Phantom Dust will use the original elements of the game of 2004, but some key parts of it will be updated. Executive Shannon Loftis also clarified on that occasion that this title would now have support for multiplayer through Xbox LIVE.

In addition, the relaunch of Phantom Dust will be within the program of Xbox Play Anywhere, which means it can be digitally acquired on Xbox One or PC and you can play it on any of these 2 systems without extra cost, last but not least the progress of your game can be shared between the two platforms.

Regarding the new title of Phantom Dust, not the relaunch, which was announced in 2014, Microsoft admitted that it is no longer in active development due to the closure of the studio Darkside Games; however, it has not been completely cancelled. Perhaps the company expects to know the success of the relaunch of the original Phantom Dust to make a decision.
