Pachter: Halo 6 Coming This Year and Gears of War 5 Coming In the Next Before Next-Gen Xbox

343 Industries and The Coalition are 2 of the most important studios for Microsoft, so it would not surprise us if they are already working on new installments of their star franchises: Halo 6 and Gears of War 5, respectively. As Microsoft has not announced anything about these projects, many believe that it is reserving the titles to launch with the next Microsft console; however, Michael Pachter, an analyst at Wedbush Securities, thinks differently.

In a talk with GamingBolt, Pachter said that he expects Halo 6 and Gears of War 5 to reach Xbox One before the end of its life cycle. In fact, he thinks that the next installment of Halo is likely to be one of Microsoft’s exclusive for this year.

“I think Xbox Two, or whatever they call it, will be a 2020 event, so I will be very surprised if we don’t get Halo and Gears before that. If I had to bet, Halo [will come] this year and Gears next year,” he said.

Later, the analyst said that, if the next Xbox arrives earlier than expected, he does not rule out a scenario in which any of these titles debuts on Xbox One and Microsoft’s next console: “If I’m wrong about what year the next Xbox launches in, then I think one of them will be a launch title. It won’t be exclusive, I think it will be old gen and new gen, like Nintendo did with Breath of the Wild on Wii U and Switch.”

Recall that a few months ago, 343 Industries pointed out that although it continues to support Halo 5 and The Master Chief Collection, the reality is that its current focus is the development of the “next Halo FPS”. On the other hand, Microsoft confirmed that The Coalition is focused exclusively on Gears of War and recently a store leaked information that seems to indicate that the next installment will be revealed soon.

And what about you, do you think it will be a long time before we see the next Halo or the next Gears of War? What do you expect from the future of these franchises? Tell us in the comments below.
