One of the most important announcements at BlizzCon 2019 was the revelation of Overwatch 2. While this announcement generated hype to those who expected an adventure with the history in this universe, it also caused many doubts among the fans of the first installment, for example, what will happen to the players of the first installment who want the cosmetics of the first game? Fortunately, Blizzard has already clarified several of them.

To begin with, Blizzard made it clear that the competitive multiplayer experience will be linked to Overwatch 2. Thus, players who only have the first installment can enjoy their new maps, game modes and their new heroes. In this way, the hero shooter community will not fragment.

“Your accomplishments and loot collections will be carried forward to Overwatch 2. That means you’ll keep your skins, player icons, sprays, emotes, and more,” Blizzard said in a statement. “Current Overwatch players will battle side-by-side with Overwatch 2 players in PvP multiplayer; they’ll also be able to play Overwatch 2 heroes and maps.”

So far, everything is clear, but what about the achievements, outfits and items that players have unlocked in the first game? According to Blizzard, players will be able to keep them and take them to the second part of the game. That said, for now it is unknown what will happen to the competitive range, but we are expected to have more details about it in the future.

The next part of the game is scheduled to release on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Also, there the company said that this project still has no launch window.
