Outlast 2 release will have a DRM-Free version on GOG

Those responsible for Good Old Games have announced that the PC version of Outlast 2, the second episode of the horror series developed by Red Barrels, which will be sold on its digital store will not have any DRM protection inside the game.

As per tradition, the site is owned by CD Projekt in fact, and thus on Good Old Games Outlast 2 will not have DRM. This means that once you have purchased your copy of the game, you can lend it to your friends, install it where you want, do whatever you want.

“We believe that a DRM-free world would be a better place and that’s why you won’t find any DRMs or other intrusive copy protection in items available at”, was the press release provided by the proprietary platform of CD Projekt. We emphasize, however, that making the purchase on Steam, the game will be on the contrary subject to the anti-piracy DRM protection, often discredited by players which severely limits the performance of video games.

Outlast 2 will be released in early 2017 on PC, PS4 (with pledged support to PS4 Pro) and Xbox One. A playable demo of the title is already available for download on all platforms.

Indeed, aftter having confirmed that Outlast 2 will not support Playstation VR, Red Barrels had recently announced thatthe new installment of the series will take advantage of the extra power of PS4 Pro. According to the words of the developers, in fact, the title will present best shadows and a texture filtering of higher quality. Moreover, the software house is working in order to introduce other improvements.
