Obsidian Entertainment is currently working on a mysterious game to be released by Private Division, a new publishing label of Take-Two based in New York that will bring to market titles developed by independent studios.

The news, however, alarmed many fans of the development team, responsible for games like Pillars of Eternity and Tyranny, due to the involvement of Take-Two. The US company, in fact, has repeatedly shown itself conducive to the inclusion of microtransactions within its games, a business model on which it aims for the future.

The guys at Obsidian Entertainment, therefore, intervened on its official forum to calm down the tempers of the fans and clarify once and for all the situation: “Will this upcoming game feature any lootboxes or other microtransactions? The answer is simply: “no.” No microtransactions, of any kind, in our game.”

They then specified that the newborn Private Division has not made any pressure in this sense, indeed, it is committed to support the team, to which they have also left complete creative freedom.

Fans can then breathe a sigh of relief, and quietly await the arrival of new details on this mysterious RPG title, described as the most ambitious project in the history of Obsidian Entertainment.

We are now waiting to find out more details about the upcoming unannounced RPG of Obsidian.
