Nintendo announced that it has distributed 19.67 million Nintendo Switch consoles since its launch, as of June 30, 2018, the closing date of the first quarter of the current fiscal year, which will end March 31, 2019.

The goal of the company was to reach the 20 million consoles distributed at the end of the fiscal year, a result that will, therefore, be greatly exceeded, with 1.88 million pieces distributed in the last quarter. As for the games sold, these are equal to 86.93 million copies, a figure that includes both retail titles and digital downloads made by eShop.

To make a comparison, Wii U is currently stuck at 13.56 million units distributed since 2012 with 102.28 million video games sold. Nintendo 3DS has instead reached 72.89 million pieces with software sales equal to 367.84 million units.

The house of Kyoto expects excellent sales for Switch during the Christmas season, thanks to the launch of highly anticipated titles such as Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee and Super Smash Bros Ultimate.

On the mobile side, Nintendo will launch the mobile game Dragalia Lost this summer, and once again confirms the release of Mario Kart Tour … by the end of the fiscal year (you have to know how to be patient to savor the good things!).
