Splatoon 2 will arrive next week, so you should be ready for its launch. That is why Nintendo has now released the online application for Switch for the iPhone on the App Store and for Android on Google Play.
The Nintendo Switch Online app was originally scheduled to release this Friday, on July 21, but apparently, the Big N chose an early launch compared to the first game that will exploit the app, Splatoon 2.
The app is officially available for free on Google Play and Apple Store. Currently, the application is obviously not usable but will allow you to log in with your Nintendo account to create the private lobby and take advantage of the voice chat for Splatoon 2.
This mobile application will be vital to communicate online with your friends, so be sure to download it for a better online experience. In the case of Splatoon 2, you can use the SplatNet 2 feature to perform voice chat while you play, among other functions.
For now, the servers are under maintenance, so you will not be able to do much. Be sure to download it to sign in with your Nintendo account and be ready when you start playing Splatoon 2.
Also, remember that the online service of Nintendo will remain free until the end of this year. Later, in 2018, the company will offer a subscription that will allow you to play online and have continuous access to a collection of classic games.
“Users can play as many games as they want, as often as they want, as long as they have an active subscription,” the company said at the time.
As you already know, Splatoon 2 will debut this month on July 21 exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
