During an interview given by the producer of Zelda, Eiji Aonuma, has confirmed that in the future we might see a new chapter of the saga conceived by Nintendo Switch, in addition to the already confirmed The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild coming together to Wii U version.
Besides having managed to contact Nintendo to know the differences between the versions of Wii U and Switch of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, IGN was also able to interview the producer Eiji Aonuma again, who revealed something very interesting. He states that he has not been able to fully utilize the new features of the Switch and it is possible that another Zelda could be developed for the console.
“There could be the possibility of another Zelda on Nintendo Switch. I think the core element of Zelda gameplay kind of stays the same. There’s the main character development as well as characters you meet along the way, and then you learn new things as the character develops. With that said I think we could keep all that, and then I do wonder how we can expand from here with that in mind” says Eiji Aonuma.
Considering that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be a launch title for Switch, it is not surprising so much to think that during the life of the new console, Nintendo could get another chapter in the saga.
If a new Zelda comes out after Breath of the Wild on the same console, it will certainly take a few years. After all, it took five years between Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword.
