The players in the United States are preparing for Black Friday, the day in which several stores in this country offer some of the best discounts of the year. Unfortunately for all who expected this day to get a Switch, Nintendo has no plans to reduce its price.

In a recent interview with The Washington Post, Reggie Fils-Aime, the president of Nintendo of America, explained that his priority is to satisfy the demand that exists for its hybrid console. For this reason, fans should not expect discounts or a bundle like they launched last year to promote the New Nintendo 3DS.

“We are not discounting the Switch. We’re focusing on making sure we have robust supply at retail,” the manager said.

Bearing in mind that Nintendo Switch is not yet 1 year old on the market and that it has been the most successful console in the region for months, it is easy to understand why Nintendo is not interested in reducing its price. What we are referring to is that the last few months have made it clear to Nintendo that there are many people willing to pay $299 USD to become owners of the hybrid console.

It is important to note that the above does not mean that it will be impossible to find Switch at a reduced price in Black Friday; however, that discount will depend on each store and not Nintendo.

Nintendo Switch debuted on March 3 and has sold more than 7.6 million units worldwide.
