Before the announcement of Nintendo Switch Lite, you probably have some doubts about what will happen with the original model of the hybrid console, especially in matters of content linked to your account.

If you are thinking about acquiring the new model of the console, you should not worry, since Nintendo is already working to make the save data transfer possible. Doug Bowser, president of Nintendo of America, said they are preparing an option to migrate save files between consoles.

This means that you will not have to spend again on your favorite titles to enjoy them in a portable way on Nintendo Switch Lite. This is undoubtedly good news for the community, who are expecting the transfer system to be easy to use.

The option mentioned by Bowser will not only allow Nintendo Switch content to be brought to Nintendo Switch Lite, since the process can also be done in reverse. For now, there are no details of how the system will work.

“Yes, you will have the ability to transfer between devices, your gameplay experiences. More to come on there, but that is the intention,” the company president said during an interview with CNET.

We will have to wait to know more about this feature. Possibly more details will be announced shortly before the premiere of the new console, which will be available in September this year at a reduced price.

Nintendo also announced the first special edition of the console, which features a unique design with Pokémon Sword & Shield motifs. The new console will be smaller and will have some adjustments in its controls, but it will not have all the characteristics of the original model.

Nintendo Switch Lite will release on September 20.
