The Witcher series has sold a total of 33 million copies and despite CD Projekt RED claimed that the third game in the series is also the last chapter dedicated to Geralt of Rivia, this does not mean that we will not see a sequel.

During a recent interview published on the Polish website Bankier, the CEO of CD Projekt RED, Adam Kiciński, made it clear that the studio is working on a second project in addition to Cyberpunk 2077 and that the mysterious game may belong to the series of The Witcher. Fortunately, it was pointed out that this is not the recently announced board game.

These are the words of Adam Kiciński: “For now consciously we want to focus on the Cyberpunk 2077, in order not to dissipate our resources and attention of players. The first three Witchers were by definition a trilogy, so we simply could not name the next game The Witcher 4. This does not mean, of course, that we will leave the world of The Witcher, created by us for over a dozen years. The Witcher is one of two franchises on which to build in the future activities of the company. Today, unfortunately, I can not reveal anything more.”

Recently rumors have spread about a possible spin-off with the protagonist Ciri, however, it is almost more than hopes and speculations, so we invite you to take this news with due precautions. The only certainty at the moment is that CD Projekt RED does not seem to abandon the series of The Witcher.
