New PS4 firmware update to fix error code E-801809A8 available next week

After installing the PlayStation 4 5.0 update, some users have encountered problems and malfunctions, reporting error code E-801809A8. Sony Interactive Entertainment is investigating on this matter and will soon publish an update to resolve the glitch in question.
It is not clear what exactly this error is, according to some testimonies the bug makes it impossible to update but the company did not comment on the story and the very leaked information comes from an email exchange with a customer service representative of Sony.

We’re currently experiencing a glitch with this error code, our engineers are working on getting fixed as fast as possible, we’re going to launch a patch to fix this issue, you will receive a notification on your console once this happen.

The issue appears to originate from the release of PS4 update 5.0, which prevents users from being able to update their console. It was later indicated that the problem stems from a faulty Blu-ray Drive.
“Thanks all for reporting this,” Sony online support said at the time. “Just to confirm we are aware of the issue and are investigating.”
A new minor update should be released shortly, at the latest by the beginning of next week, we are waiting for more information to know more.
