Report: New Nintendo Switch Model With Improved Display Could Launch in 2019

It is estimated that the console will have improvements on its screen.

The success of Nintendo Switch continues to rise and the company has already planned a series of important releases for the remainder of the year and some surprises that we will surely see in 2019.

The company confirmed in March that it does not plan to launch a revision of Nintendo Switch at the hardware level in 2018, but everything indicates that it will happen next year. Recent reports say that Nintendo is preparing a new version of its hybrid console for the second half of 2019.

According to information published by The Wall Street Journal, the updated version of Nintendo Switch could have improvements on the screen. It is estimated that Nintendo still plans this revision and analyzes various optimizations, as well as new features.

Likewise, it is indicated that the company contemplates the costs that would imply making the changes. The report indicates that the possible update on the screen would make it brighter and give it a more efficient use of energy. And if that was not enough, it opens the possibilities to have a thinner console.

Nintendo could opt for higher quality screens that will bring Switch to the latest mobile devices. Despite this, the reports rule out the use of OLED screens in the new model of the console.

At the moment there are no further details of the next Switch model, but it is estimated that it could debut in the summer of 2019. Nintendo has not confirmed any of the information, but it is not uncommon to know that a console update is planned, especially after to see the changes that the company made in 3DS and in the past systems.

For now, there is nothing more but to wait to know more details about it. If Nintendo is really planning a new Switch model for 2019, it is likely that at the beginning of the year we will have more information about the improvements that will be made in the hardware.

In related news, Nintendo will support Switch for more than 6 years. On the other hand, its online service will soon receive 3 new classic NES titles.
