The next installment of the Doom series will feature Easter eggs, including the ability to find pieces of levels from the two first strand of the famous FPS game from id Software. A video shows one of these secrets.
Particularly awaited by fans of the famous franchise from id Software, the next installment in the Doom series continues to reveal its contents. After a multiplayer beta which divided the players and a gameplay video of the single player campaign that was generally reassured, we learn that the title will feature some homage to the roots of the series.
Indeed, it is through the IGN website we learn that the levels plots of Doom and Doom II are present as secrets to discover in the main progression. As shown in the video below, it is not a matter of complete levels, but a few hidden passages, sporting the design level of the time.
Machine Games operated a similar method in Wolfenstein: The New Order and its standalone add-on The Old Blood, ensuring a dose of nostalgia to older players who have known Wolfenstein 3D.
