Age of Empires: Definitive Edition debuted in February 2018, so it recently celebrated its 1st anniversary. Forgotten Empires, the studio behind the title, celebrated the date with a special publication on the page of the series.
Jennifer Godwin, a member of the company, shared details of a major update for the Definitive Edition, but also said that there will be surprises related to the franchise soon.
The best of all is that there is little to know what it is, Godwin confirmed that there will be information about the title in the next Inside Xbox. The Microsoft event will take place in March, but there is still no confirmed date for it.
Despite this, expectations are high, as the followers of the strategy series believe that Age of Empires: Definitive Edition could debut on Xbox One. On the other hand, there are the final versions of Age of Empires II and Age of Empires III.
Another possibility that is contemplated for the Inside Xbox is something related to Age of Empires IV, a title that was announced in August of 2017. It is necessary to remember that the new title is developed by Relic Entertainment.
Unfortunately, Godwin did not give more information about it, so we will have to wait a few weeks to find out what it is. As for the update for the Definitive Edition, it improves several general aspects, resolves common errors and fixes several blocks at the end of the game.
Age of Empires: Definitive Edition is available on PC.
