Among the features of the Xbox One S, we know that there are support for the 4K and for HDR. So far, to support high dynamic range there were only the Microsoft domestic games, but now things could change, as NBA 2K17 would offer the same opportunity.

At the moment, there is still no official announcement either from Visual Concepts, the developer of the title, nor by 2K Sports, the publisher of the game.

To take advantage of this feature that can create much more realistic images, the TV will need to have a HDR10 and not a simple Dolby Vision HDR.

Televisions that have this characteristic are generally also monitors that offer a resolution in 4K and are able to create specific areas with much more dark tones of the normal, and other, on the contrary, much more brilliant.

The support of dynamic range offers improved contrast and color information for each pixel and thus multiplies the color variants of millions to billions in addition to reducing the degraded artifacts.

Other games that have confirmed compatibility with HDR are Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3 and Scalebound. For now, Xbox One S is the only console in the market compatible with this technology.

NBA 2K17 will be released on September 16th on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
