Naughty Dog and Rockstar Animator Joins Sony’s New Studio for An Unannounced Project

According to the forecasts, 2019 is the year in which Sony and Microsoft will reveal their new consoles but, obviously, the presentation of that hardware needs to be accompanied by what will be the first generation of video games. Although not much is known about what is coming, there are details about what is cooking in terms of studios and yesterday it generated very interesting information about the creative team that Sony Interactive Entertainment is forming in San Diego, California.
As you will remember, before the end of 2018 information came for a new studio that SIE is forming in San Diego, California, which is responsible for the creation of a new AAA title and whose work has the support of the Visual Arts Service Group (VASG), which has participated in the creation of titles such as Uncharted, God of War and Death Stranding.
Well, according to a publication by Quentin Cobb, creative who is part of the new studio, James Martinchek is the new signing for the AAA game that is in development, which is kept secret. Martinchek’s experience in the development of video games includes his participation as an animator at inXile Entertainment, where he made the leap to Naughty Dog to participate in the animation of series like The Last of Us and Uncharted and his most recent work, made in Rockstar Games, was in the animation section of Red Dead Redemption 2.
For his part, Quentin Cobb was part of the quality control team of Uncharted titles and his talent led him to be designer of The Last of Us and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Now, both creatives are working in the new studio of SIE, for which we do not know many details, but it is a reality.
