During the last episode of the Pachter Factor show, Michael Pachter spoke about Project Scorpio, declaring how in his view the full support for 4K will not be important for the dissemination of the console.
These are the words of the well-known analyst: “I don’t think it matters. We can go from 1080p which is 2million pixels on the screen to 4K which is 8 million pixels on the screen, and although that’s 6 million more pixels and 4 times the graphic intensity. That’s like taking a photo from a iPhone 3 or 4 with a 2 mega-pixel camera and compare it with a photo of an iPhone 7 which has a 10 or 12 mega-pixel camera.”
“Scorpio is going to be 4K , What does 4K mean? 8 million pixels. It’s 4 times as many pixels as 1080p. Yes that requires a b*tt load of processing power but it isn’t that big of a deal,” Pachter further stated.
Michael Pachter has also estimated that not only will Nintendo Switch sell as much as Nintendo 3DS, but this will be placed as a preference to buy against Project Scorpio. Whatever happens finally, the fact is still that Nintendo’s new console is sweeping both hardware sales, reaching to sell half a million units in Japan in just one month, as well as software with its star title of Zelda Breath of the Wild, which has managed to be the game with the most perfect scores in history.
