Konami has just unveiled Metal Gear Survive, a new game of stealth and cooperative action that is “a new addition to Metal Gear Solid V experience.”

Based after Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes events, Survive carries members of Militaires Sans Frontières organization who were not killed at the end of that game through wormhole to a parallel dimension in which they are forced to battle crystal-headed zombies, one of them much like the Metal Gear itself.

“Metal Gear Survive will offer a fresh take on the series’ famed stealth elements but within a unique co-op setting that is designed for a truly engrossing multi-player experience,” said European President of Konami, Tomotada Tashiro, in a statement.

Survive will be the first Metal Gear made after the departure of creator Hideo Kojima of Konami series. The company did not make clear how much of the original team of Kojima Productions is working on the game.

Although Big Boss appears at the beginning of the trailer, we do not know if any of the clones of Snake or character of the Kojima game will be present in Survive. Anyway, Konami makes it clear that the game will be “a new addition to the Metal Gear Solid V experience.”

Konami has revealed few concrete details about the game beyond the trailer, but it is built to be played with four players and put new weapons and equipment available to heroes. Konami says the game is a “survival made in Metal Gear style.”

The zombie enemies are presented by Konami as “biological threats” and mentions that some of them will be “massive”, possibly referring to the Metal Gear that is heard at the end of the trailer.

Assessing the starting of the trailer, the game seems to involve the raising of resources taken from a Mother Base destroyed, parts of which were sucked and spread through wormhole which transported the protagonists of the game.

Metal Gear Survive will use the same FOX engine used to form the experience of Metal Gear Solid V. Konami will reveal more information about the game after Gamescom 2016.
