Earlier this week, Naughty Dog released a concept art from The Last of Us: Part II and many recalled their attention to Ellie, the protagonist, who has a tattoo on her right arm. To please its fans, the studio released a new art where it is shown in detail.

The design features a moth on two branches of some sort of vegetation. The tattoo was done by the artist Natalie Hall, who also participated in the trailer revelation of The Last of Us: Part II by allowing Naughty Dog scanning her hands for the shots while Ellie appears to be playing guitar. According to Neil Druckmann, director of the game, this was done through a new scanning process.

Before putting the tattoo on Ellie, artists of Naughty Dog painted it with markers on the arm of Alexandria Neonakis, designer and artist of the studio. Druckmann shared a couple of pictures on his Twitter account which shows the result.

The Last of Us: Part II was revealed at the end of the PlayStation Experience 2016 conference. The sequel to the hit title for PlayStation 3 will not be directed by Bruce Straley, but will have the collaboration of one of the writers of Westworld, popular HBO series. The game’s soundtrack will be composed by Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain).

The Last of Us: Part II is at an early stage of development for PlayStation 4.
