Larry Hryb, head of Xbox Live, talks about the PS4 content policy, comparing them with those of Xbox Live. The executive – known in Twitter as @majornelson – is present in the PAX Australia, which takes place today from 4 to 6 November.
Hryb has referred to this issue, after a user suggested to him that PS4 has been more successful than Xbox One in terms of the DLCs of third-parties. Especially during the past generation. However, Hryb responded that Microsoft always makes decisions that are best suited to their resources.
“They [Sony] just decided to write a lot of cheques from what I understand; we certainly had the options, and we would look at it, but it’s like, is that the best way to spend money or should we work on creating maybe an Elite controller?”
Taking advantage of the debate, another user asked him about what aspects of Xbox could improve. And Hryb has said that the team of Xbox is always looking forward, looking for ways to improve what has already been launched. In fact, the executive says that the next update will be fantastic.
“There’s no right answer: we look at every single opportunity, and go, ‘Is this the best for the community and the best use of our money, or would it be better somewhere else, like working on Xbox One S or something like that?'”
Larry Hryb seems very excited with the updates and upcoming changes, so we’ll have to wait and see what lies ahead of Xbox.
