Fire At Kyoto Animation Leaves Several Injured

An unfortunate event shook the entertainment and animation industry globally. What we are referring to is that the animation studio of Kyoto Animation recently caught fire, which left almost 40 people injured.

According to the Japan Times, authorities believe that the fire was caused by a subject of approximately 40 years old who sprayed gasoline in the studio and set it on fire. The suspect has already been arrested by the authorities.

The fire affected the 3 floors of Kyoto Animation and endangered the lives of all its workers. According to Kotaku, local media reports that 38 employees were taken to the hospital for serious injuries and that 9 people were left unconscious. Also, there are those who report that a person died in this incident.

In case you do not know, Kyoto Animation is an animation studio known for productions such as The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Lucky Star and Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid.

In addition, the animation studio founded in 1981 also worked on Super Mario Bros.: The Great Mission to Rescue Princess Peach!, an animated film exclusive for Japan. Check the video below showing the fire in the studio:
