Koei Tecmo: Fatal Frame Announcement Will be Made At The Right Time

The producer of Attack on Titan 2 for Nintendo Switch and other consoles talks about what we can expect from Fatal Frame. The series is still in the sights of Koei Tecmo.

Fatal Frame

Three years have passed since the launch of Project Zero Maiden of Black Water for Wii U, a rather long time span in the video game industry, which would suggest the possibility of an upcoming announcement regarding a new game in the series of Fatal Frame.

Interviewed by Siliconera, the producer of Attack on Titan 2, Hisashi Koinuma, confirmed that Koei-Tecmo has not abandoned the franchise (Fatal Frame), however, there is nothing to announce about a new chapter.

“This series is currently being serialized in a manga [in Japan]. We don’t have new information about the series at the moment, but as Koei Tecmo we believe this is one of our valuable IPs. When the time is right we will make an announcement, please be patient for it,” Koinuma mentioned.

Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water was an entertaining title, but not perfect. Maybe in a new title, some things can be refined. Let’s just hope that this time Nintendo of America promotes it in a better way. Although surely the European subsidiary would do so, and as there is no blockage of the region, we could import a copy without much trouble.

Project Zero Maiden of Black Water was launched at the end of 2015 on Wii U, they are now asking Koei Tecmo for a remastered version for Switch.
