Koei Tecmo Confirms No Plans To Bring Nioh on Xbox One

In recent days rumors have been circulating that Nioh, the game of Koei Tecmo for PlayStation 4 and PC, is on its way to Xbox One. However, the reality is different and this was confirmed by the studio.

Through a message on Twitter, Koei Tecmo Europe made it clear that they have no plans to bring Nioh to Xbox One. So, as things stand, it seems that the only way to enjoy the adventure of William Adams in feudal Japan will be on a PC or on a PlayStation 4.

“It’s the same answer I give everyone who asks,” the company said on the social network. “There are NO current plans to bring Nioh to Xbox.”

These rumors began to circulate after people misinterpreted information that was shared by KyroxSP. This Spanish gamer had an exchange of private messages on Twitter with Koei Tecmo Europe. There the company said that it seems difficult for the game to reach Xbox One because Sony has distribution rights. That said, it did not rule out a possible release on this console.

So, with this information, the situation seems to be clearer. While it is not impossible that Nioh would follow the same path as games like No Man’s Sky or NieR: Automata, the reality is that it is not something that is in the plans of the owners of the IP.

In other news, it was recently confirmed that Nioh has already sold more than 2 million copies. On the other hand, in E3 2018 it was revealed that a sequel to this acclaimed title is already on the way.
