The Kratos that we see today in the new God of War is very different from the one we control in God of War III, so since the title for PlayStation 4 was announced, many wondered what he did between those 2 adventures. Fortunately, Sony decided to remove fans from the doubt by means of a new video focused on this acclaimed title.
In the footage, Cory Barlog, the creative director of God of War, explains that between both games there is a period in which Kratos decides that it is best to just wander around the world. This is because he is in a complicated situation in which he must face several emotional problems.
“In my opinion, [Kratos] hit bottom emotionally. It is at a time when the gods and monsters are exploring the Earth and he is in an attitude in which he is willing to change (…) He is not on a heroic journey, he is on the journey of recovering a bit of his humanity. ”
Later, Barlog made it clear that this new God of War will be more about Kratos’ emotions and less about highlighting his physical power: “There’s an internal journey for every human being. In the old games, we tackled more of the physical journey. The emotional journey, the internal journey, is far more intriguing now.”
On the other hand, we think you’ll be interested to know that Barlog confessed his interest in developing a new IP. To finish, we tell you that the soundtrack of God of War can already be heard on Spotify.
God of War will arrive on April 20 exclusively for PlayStation 4. What do you think about the transformation of Kratos? Do you find this new facet of the character interesting? Let us know about your opinions in the comments below.
