The year 2017 marks the 20th anniversary of the Harvest Moon series, and distributor Natsume is celebrating the occasion with the announcement of a new game coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC.

The title in question is named Harvest Moon: Light of Hope and it is the first game of the franchise that makes its appearance on PC and Nintendo Switch. The story will begin with players traveling in a boat looking for a new home. However, things do not go as expected and end up sinking.

According to a statement, Natsume President, Hiro Maekawa, stated that Light of Hope will differ from its predecessors by having much more depth, a robust history and well-defined goals. He added that the style of play will be nostalgic, as it will remind the SNES era, with significant characters and events.

For now, the 20th anniversary has been celebrated with the re-launch of Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life Special Edition and Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland, for PlayStation 4. Additionally, Natsume brought Harvest Moon 64 to Wii U while a new title for mobile devices is on the way called Harvest Moon Lil ‘Farmers.

According to the company, Harvest Moon: Light of Hope will be in E3 2017 and attendees will have the opportunity to try it out.
