God of War will debut earlier this year; however, players still do not have a clear idea of what to expect from this title. The changes in the franchise are undeniable, not only at the presentation level but also in terms of playability.
Game Informer recently revealed some interesting details of the game, especially about Kratos and the combat mechanics. The media also had a meeting with Cory Barlog, the director of the game. The developer commented some more details of God of War. For starters, the creative said that for fans of the series there will be a huge surprise with the presentation and the gameplay of the title.
Previously, Barlog said that this title would not follow the formula of open world. Thus, God of War promises a linear experience; however, it will give players some freedom, Barlog said recently that the game will have side quests.
The creative said that he and his team do not call them that, but in familiar terms, those can be classified that way. He also stated that throughout the title players will have to solve some puzzles and end with various Nordic gods. Regarding the transition from Greek mythology to the current mythology, Barlog said that the narrative of the game will explain how it happened.
On the other hand, the creative said that Atreus will not die during the fighting, and the ash of Kratos’ body will form an important part of the narrative and that we will be able to interact with a large number of non-playable characters.
God of War will arrive sometime this year to PlayStation 4. The game will take approximately 25 to 35 hours to complete. Some rumors indicate that the game will hit the shelves on March 22.
