Gears 5 Has A Reggie Themed Achievement, Could The Title Be Coming To Switch?
Although he no longer works in the video game industry, Reggie Fils-Aime, former president of Nintendo of America, is considered a legend and there is immense respect for his career even among members of other companies. As evidence of this, we have that Gears 5, the most important exclusive title of Microsoft for 2019, hides a reference to the former Nintendo employee.
A few hours ago, Microsoft shared the list of achievements of Gears 5 after announcing that it has already reached its Gold phase. The first of the list is an achievement that is unlocked in the campaign and its name is “My Body is Ready”, which is clearly a reference to one of the most emblematic phrases of Reggie Fils-Aime. To unlock this achievement, players will have to complete the Boot Camp phase (probably their tutorial) and by doing so they will get 5 points for their gamerscore.
This little tribute did not go unnoticed by Reggie Fils-Aime, who took the opportunity to post a tweet about it. In it, he only said that he hopes that the achievement will be shown in the Gears 5 campaign presentation and thanked the gesture to Phil Spencer, Xbox boss, who simply replied “Respect paid where respect is due.” Could this also be a sign that in future we could see Gears 5 coming to Nintendo Switch? Well, only time will tell.
In case you don’t know, Reggie Fils-Aime was the president of Nintendo of America from 2006 until April 15, 2019, the day he retired. This executive stood out for his charisma in different Nintendo presentations, which led him to become a fan favorite.
Gears 5 will premiere on September 10 on Xbox One and PC. And you, did you ever imagine that an Xbox Game Studio game included a reference to Reggie Fils-Aime? What do you think about this little tribute? Tell us in the comments below.
