The Microsoft conference at E3 2019 is certainly one of the most awaited, also considering that Xbox Scarlett is supposed to be shown (although perhaps only with a small teaser, as reported by an insider). But we must not forget that there will also be space for many games for Xbox One and PC: one of them could be a certain Gears 5, announced at E3 2018 without a specific release date. Now, new information has emerged about it.
To begin with, as we reported, we recall that a leak from a Taiwanese classification body, not denied by Microsoft, had a cover and a release date of the game: 10 September. According to this information, therefore, the release is scheduled for 2019 and new revelations seem to confirm it.
In fact, an official Microsoft document leaked this week includes a series of advertising descriptions of the game. One of them reports: “Gears 5 is the highly-anticipated sequel for one of the most acclaimed video game franchises. Coming exclusively to Xbox One and Windows in 2019.”
A second description, however, reveals: “The world is crumbling and your enemies uniting. As Kait you must journey across the biggest, most beautiful Gears world ever to discover your family’s dark connection to the enemy and fight to save what remains of humanity.”
“The world is crumbling. Humanity’s reliance on technology has become their downfall and enemies are uniting to wipe out all survivors. As Kait you must journey across the biggest, most beautiful Gears world to uncover the origins of the Locust, and fight with your squad to protect what’s left.”
Finally, the description also states that there will be new features and new coop and competitive modes to be announced. This is very interesting information, especially since it suggests that the developer, The Coalition, is aiming for 4K and 60fps for all game modes and for multiplayer too. Moreover, the game environments could be less linear and wider than in the past, as happened with Uncharted 4, for example.
Obviously, this is just leaked information full of speculation, this is not official information. In any case, what do you think?
