Although the chain stores of video game GameStop is currently experiencing moments of uncertainty regarding the advancement of consumption by digital means and the acquisition in online stores, the relationship with Switch has allowed it to come out and remain in force. Recently, the manager Eric Bright revealed that the Nintendo hybrid console increased its sales considerably during E3 2018.

Eric Bright, vice president of marketing at GameStop, revealed to GamesIndustry that the sales of Nintendo Switch increased twice as much during the week that E3 2018 took place. According to the manager, fans turned to the physical and online stores of GameStop to acquire the console and preorder 2 of their next most important titles, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and the 2 titles of Pokémon Let’s Go.

In this regard, Bright said: “Nothing beats Nintendo’s overall announcements. Super Smash Bros is jumping right up to the top of the [pre-order] list. We’re also seeing great reaction from Pokémon Let’s Go, both SKUs, and then of course people are trying to get their hands on the Pokéball [controller] as well.”

Thus, everything indicates that the hybrid console of Nintendo continues to cause a stir in the North American market and that increase in sales will be reflected in the monthly report for June.
