Game Director Tom Chilton leaves World of Warcraft to work on ‘another project’

At the end of August, Blizzard released World of Warcraft: Legion, and it seems that the fans were more than pleased with the launch of this expansion, who saw this as the end of a journey that lasted more than 10 years. However, for Tom Chilton, director of World of Warcraft, this is the beginning of a new adventure.
Tom Chilton, director of World of Warcraft and team member for more than 10 years, has announced that he will leave office “to start a new adventure in Blizzard”. From today the head of the most successful MMO of all time will be Ion Hazzikostas, until now head of design.
During a recent post, Chilton talked about his career in front of World of Warcraft and mentioned that now that Legion is finished, he will move into a new project. Meanwhile, Hazzikostas will take his place as director of game in WoW.
“For me, Legion has been more than just another expansion, though—it’s the culmination of more than a decade of work with one of the best development teams I’ve ever had the pleasure to be a part of,” he said. “It’s with a mix of excitement, sadness, and gratitude that I’m saying farewell to the WoW team and moving on to a new adventure within Blizzard.”
What is this mysterious project they are talking about? Right now we do not know about it, but surely there will be information later. What do you think Tom Chilton will be working from now? Do let us know in the comment section below.
