Some recently released Tweets from Alien’s official Twitter account generated the hope of a follow-up to the Alien Isolation 2 game for many fans of the franchise.
However, these expectations have not been reflected in reality. The Teasers released on the social network have finally proved to be connected to a different project, called Alien: Blackout. The latter is, in fact, the title of a new game developed by FoxNext and D3 Go! for mobile platforms, both Android and iOS. Following this announcement, the Variety editorial team had the opportunity to contact TQ Jefferson, Vice President of External Development at FoxNext Games, with whom the executive discussed some projects related to the Alien franchise.
On the videogame front, TQ Jefferson described Alien: Blackout as a “standalone premium mobile game.” He also emphasized the broad potential of the Xenomorphic narrative universe: “There are a lot of stories we can tell in the franchise. We can tell more stories about Amanda Ripley without it being an ‘Isolation’ game.” In this regard, Variety reports that TQ Jefferson added that “Alien Isolation 2 is not in development.”
Positive news, however, for the title linked to the Alien brand under development at Cold Iron Studios, which TQ Jefferson confirms to be still in development. News, however, recently confirmed by the same FoxNext Games.
