As we already know that Forza Motorsport 7 will have a size of 100 GB on Xbox One and Xbox One X, a size not properly contained, which prompted the staff of Stevivor to investigate the matter, realizing to the fact that the size indicated refers exclusively to the download and installation on Xbox One X.
Forza Motorsport 7 is shown in great shape during E3 2017, thanks to the potential of Xbox One X that allows the title of Turn 10 to enjoy a native resolution in 4K at 60 frames per second.
But beauty comes at a cost, and in recent weeks it has been noticed that the game will arrive on the new Microsoft console will arrive with a whopping size of 100 GB.
However, a spokesman for Microsoft has, in fact, explained to Stevivor that the assets in 4K will be downloaded exclusively on Xbox One X, as Xbox One and Xbox One S does not run this standard.
“With the launch of Xbox One X, when it comes to game content our intention is to download the correct assets to the correct console,” a representative of Microsoft said Stevivor. “This means, regardless of the TV you are playing on, 4K assets will be downloaded to Xbox One X (if available) and the standard 1080p assets will be downloaded to an Xbox One S.”
Although each developer has complete freedom with regard to data management, the goal is to automate the process and make sure that the system recognizes the target console and downloads only the fixed assets, limiting the download size.
In the case of Forza Motorsport 7, the size of the game will be reduced on Xbox One and Xbox One S while it will be equal to 100 GB on Xbox One X. The game will be released on October 3 on all platforms indicated and PC (via Windows Store).
