SEGA has announced that Hokuto Ga Gotoku, its Fist of the North Star will not be released in Japan on February 22, 2018, as initially expected: the title is now expected to release in Japan on March 8, exclusively on PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro.
Yakuza Studio announces it in effect through its official Japanese website. The delay is due to the desire to improve some aspects of the project, the additional two weeks will be used by the developers to increase the final quality of the game and meet the very high fan expectations.
It is not clear whether the publication of the demo (scheduled for February) will also be delayed, even if at the moment the hypothesis seems decidedly improbable.
The story of the game, set in the world described in the manga, will be completely unpublished and will see Kenshiro directed towards the city of Eden, a city where rumors want his beloved Yuria to be believed dead. Master Tetsuo Hara illustrated the cover of the game and created the unpublished characters.
Fist of the North Star is developed by Yakuza Studio for SEGA and presents a game mechanic similar to that of the successful Yakuza series, known in Japan with the original title of Ryu ga Gotoku.
Recall that at the moment Fist of the North Star is still not given a Western release date, the arrival of the game in Europe and North America has not been confirmed by the publisher.
