First Original Xbox backward compatibility games hits Xbox One on October 24
In the last event of E3 2017 in June, Microsoft had announced that it was working to bring the games of the first Xbox on Xbox One. It seems now that this new expectation is about to debut now. Indeed, the original Xbox games have appeared inside the Xbox Marketplace, in the “games on demand” section. The interesting thing is that these titles can already be purchased today.
Thus, Microsoft announced that the top thirteen games of the first Xbox backward compatible with Xbox One will be officially available tomorrow, Tuesday, October 24th. Below is the list of the launch titles of this service.
The games available since October 24 are Bloodrayne 2, Crimson Skies, Dead to Rights, Fusion Frenzy, Grabbed by the Ghoulies, The King of Fighters Neowave, Ninja Gaiden Black, Pirates!, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Psychonauts, Red Faction 2 and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
By including these games, however, these games will not appear within the Xbox One Dashboard, a sign that you probably need a further console update that introduces this new feature or that Redmond’s home needs to make some server-side modification to enable this new support. Certainly, by the end of the year, Xbox One users will be able to put their hands on many old games of the past.
All titles will enjoy graphic enhancements such as 1080p resolution support, more framerate and reduced loading times. Those who own the games on the disc can play for free, alternatively, you will be able to purchase titles on the Xbox Store at a price of $9.99 dollars.
