Fire Emblem Echoes expected to be the last ‘mainline’ game on 3DS
Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadow of Valentia, the remake of the second chapter of the saga originally released on the NES in 1992, will be the last major episode developed for Nintendo 3DS. This was stated by Hitoshi Yamagami, producer of the series, on the pages of June issue of Japanese magazine of Dengeki Nintendo.
Missing very little, now, the debut of Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is set for this month of May 19 on Nintendo 3DS. A few days after its debut, the producer Hitoshi Yamagami spoke about the future of the series with the Japanese press, adding that with great probability precisely, this episode will be the last of the mainline series of Fire Emblem to arrive on Nintendo 3DS.
This does not mean, however, that the franchise will abandon totally the portable console. We recall, infact that, during the next fall a 3DS spin-off Fire Emblem Warriors will debut, title with gameplay Which presents the typical mechanics of musou developed by Omega Force, Intelligent Systems and Team Ninja and published by Koei Tecmo.
Later the saga will make the jump to the hybrid platform of the company, and therefore it would not make sense to make a new title on the old portable given the characteristics of this one. Fire Emblem for Switch is expected for the next year 2018.
