At the moment there are very few details on this mode and the only thing confirmed is that it will be for 4 players and there we can control some of the characters who accompany Noctis in the campaign.

In a statement, Square Enix said that this mode is part of “the new styles of gameplay” that comes with the Season Pass ($25 USD) for Final Fantasy XV. The cooperative mode will be available as part of the DLC Comrades, where up to 4 players take control of Noctis, Gladiolus, Prompto and Ignis. At the moment it is unknown whether this chapter will be sold separately.

“The centerpiece of the Season Pass are having 3 original episodes that take place during the events of Final Fantasy XV. Each episode allows players to take control of one of the comrades of Noctis on new adventures featuring unique gameplay styles for each character,” said Square Enix in a statement.

As we reported earlier, the first of the expansions for Final Fantasy XV will be Episode Gladiolus, which will be followed by Episode Ignis and Episode Prompto. These expansions themselves will be available for sale separately.

In related information, Square Enix announced that after years of development, Final Fantasy XV finally reached its Gold stage. On the other hand, the company revealed how the Moogles work in this new release.
