Square Enix revealed during the PlayStation press conference in Japan that Final Fantasy IX is now available for download from the PlayStation Store.
Released for the first time in 2000, Final Fantasy IX for PlayStation 4 gives players the chance to revive the classic story of love, magic and rediscovery of themselves with various enhancements including high definition videos and characters, trophy support, auto-save features and optional game enhancements, including accelerated and zero-encoded modes.
Final Fantasy IX tells the story of Gidan Tribal, a bandit who along with the group of traveling artists Tantalus is planning to abduct Princess Garnet of Alexandria. After a series of unforeseen events, Gidan, Garnet, the timid black man Vivi Ornitier, the faithful Knight Adelbert Steiner and other unforgettable characters leave for an incredible adventure to discovering themselves, the secrets of the Crystal and the obscene force that threatens to destroy their world.
The game is now available in digital version on PlayStation 4 at a price of €20.99. Those who will purchase the digital edition will also receive an original personalized theme created by Toshiyuki Itahana and eight avatars of the main characters.
To celebrate the launch of Final Fantasy IX, the game will be available at the discounted price of €16.79 for those who have an active subscription to PlayStation Plus until September 26th.
