Ubisoft: Far Cry 5 Post-Launch DLC Will Take The Game To Places It’s Never Been Before
After a few months of waiting, Far Cry 5 finally made its debut today. To celebrate, the producer Philip Fournier spoke about the post-launch content that this release will have. According to him, the various planned DLC will take the game to another level, so he will be at the head of the entire Ubisoft franchise.
Through the PlayStation blog, Fournier said the extra content for Far Cry 5 takes the philosophy of expanding Far Cry 3’s Blood Dragon. Thus, players can expect quality content that will take them to unsuspected locations.
As you may remember, Far Cry 5 will feature Hours of Darkness, Dead Living Zombies and Lost on Mars. The DLC will take you to Vietnam, to a world riddled with zombies and Mars, respectively. Below, you can take a look at the contents:
Fournier affirmed that they will be completely new adventures and that they will be independent to the main narrative of the game. Despite this, the contents will seek to preserve the essence of the franchise.
“The essence of Far Cry, for us, has always been to put players in a context or situation they’re not really expecting and I think our three story expansions for Far Cry 5 are really a great statement to that effect,” Fournier explained.
The creative said that each content will have its own identity. Despite being separated from the story of the game, fans will find links to various characters that will meet in Hope County.
“Each expansion feels like something new: you’re going to be playing with different features and new toys in uniquely-realised open-world scenarios. We’ve really invested a lot of time and effort into that ensuring these were not simply ‘re-skins’, but that that each represents its own distinct experience. We had entirely different teams, like Ubisoft Shanghai, running the development from start to finish and they really did an awesome job of capturing the essence of Far Cry 5 in brand-new scenarios and environments that deliberately turn things on their head,” Fournier said.
The DLC announced will be part of the Season Pass that can be purchased for a price of $29.99 USD. Take into account that this Season Pass is already included in the Gold Edition of the title, which you can get for $89.99 USD. In addition to DLC, the pass will give you access to Far Cry 3 Classic Edition.
Far Cry 5 is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
