A few moments ago, Alex Hutchinson, creative director at Ubisoft Montreal, announced on his official Twitter account that he will leave the company after 7 years of work in which he participated in titles such as Assassin’s Creed III and Far Cry 4. Previously, the creative has worked with Electronic Arts in titles such as The Sims 2 and Spore.

With a short message on Twitter, Alex Hutchinson announced that he had left Ubisoft Montreal in seven years. The creative director has worked on titles such as Assassin’s Creed III and Far Cry 4, but now has decided to abandon the French giant to establish a new independent studio called Typhoon Studios.

The publication of Alex Hutchinson appears to be the public announcement of his retirement from Ubisoft, since in labor terms he had not been part of the company since February, when he began preparations to found a new studio called Typhoon Studios.

So far there is no more information on the plans that Alex Hutchinson has and keeping Typhoon Studios in mind, however, the creative director said that the studio will also feature Reid Schneider, former executive of Warner Bros. and Electronic Arts.

The two met in 2002, when Hutchinson worked as lead designer of Spore at Maxis and now they have decided to join forces to create an independent company.
