Ex-Blizzard Devs Working on a New Marvel Game
After leaving Blizzard Entertainment last April and having founded the independent development studio of Second Dinner, Ben Brode and Hamilton Chu finally revealed the first details about their next project based on a new Marvel game.
Through a video posted on Youtube, the two developers announced that their new project will be linked to a new Marvel game. For the moment we have no further information about the game itself, however Brode has confirmed that the aforementioned title has been in development for about six months and then revealed that the studio received a $30 million loan from NetEase; these funds will allow the software house to hire new employees and move to a new location.
Marvel Games chief Jay Ong said he was very optimistic of the close partnership with Second Dinner: “I’ve worked with Ben [and company] for years and they are exactly who we want making Marvel games. They and the team they’ve assembled at Second Dinner have made some of the greatest games in history. And now, working with the Marvel Games team and playing in the Marvel Universe…it’s going to be Amazing! Or maybe Spectacular! Or Incredible! Or Mighty! Or quite possibly all of the above!”
Before starting his career at Blizzard as Hearthstone’s executive producer, Hamilton Chu worked for six years in the ranks of Bungie collaborating on the development of titles such as Halo and Halo 2, while Ben Brode is known as former Lead Designer and Game Director of Hearthstone and for collaborating on the development of several expansions of World of Warcraft.
