Electronic Arts Estimates Total Sales of Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch

Although the information related to sales of consoles is a matter for analysis firms, some companies usually touch on the subject and Electronic Arts did the same in its recent financial report, where it revealed its hardware sales projections for 2018.
Today, as part of the presentation of its financial report for the fourth quarter of its fiscal year, which ended on March 31, Electronic Arts shared its projections of sales of consoles for 2018, which not only account for the success of PS4 and Switch, they also allow us to estimate the total sales of Xbox One after Microsoft’s gaming division has not shared data in that area for 3 years.
Initially, Blake Jorgensen, EA’s financial director, mentioned that the company expects PS4 and Switch to remain strong in the market and that between them they have an installed base of 130 million units worldwide, something that will be achieved if Switch meets its projected sales of 30 million consoles by December 31, 2018, and PS4 continues to achieve success throughout the year.
On the other hand, the manager of EA also addressed the estimate of the company in terms of sale of consoles last year, which only took into account PS4 and Xbox One, and said that the installed base of hardware recorded 103 million units sold until December 31, 2017.
The above has allowed calculating the total sales of Xbox One since Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that for that date of last year, PS4 sold 73.6 million units, so that the Microsoft console would have sold, up to that date, 29.4 million units.
Thus, EA’s financial report has indirectly revealed interesting information about Xbox One and highlighted the positive environment surrounding PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
