Earth Defense Force 5 Sells Over 250,000 Copies in Japan

According to what was announced by D3 Publisher, Earth Defense Force 5 for PlayStation 4 has managed to sell over 250,000 copies in Japan within two weeks. To celebrate the milestone, a new TV commercial was published with the participation of the idol Nana Asakawa.

The figure refers to the sum of the physical copies distributed and to the digital copies sold. Considering that the title only came out last December 7 in Japan, we can talk about a decidedly positive commercial debut.

At the moment there has been no confirmation regarding the possible debut of Earth Defense Force 5 in the West. Considering the commercial success of the game, and the fact that the previous chapters have also arrived in Europe, it is quite probable that the title will be marketed also in the western region.

The title is set in the year 2022 when the Earth Defense Force is at war against the usual invading aliens. Players will play the role of an Earth Defense Force soldier tasked with exterminating the endless waves of giant creatures and saving the planet. Moreover, for the first time, the aliens behind this war will make their appearance.

Before leaving, we remind you that Earth Defense Force 5 was launched exclusively on PlayStation 4 and for now only in Japan.

We leave you with the new TV spot published below.
