In the course of the UBS Global Technology conference, Blake Jorgensen, Chief Financial Officer of Electronic Arts, among other points, also talked about Nintendo Switch. According to him, the company will have bigger games among its third-party publishers more prominent and important.
During the UBS Global Technology Conference, Blake Jorgensen (Chief Financial Officer at EA) has revealed the company’s plans about the new hybrid console of Nintendo Switch. From what we know, in fact, the American company is among the partener that will support the new Nintendo console. Of course, to date, nothing is known about what games could end up on the Japanese console and it is unclear whether many of the same partners know that.
During the conference he expressed that “in terms of Nintendo, in their announcement they announced that we’ll be supporting with a game or two on that new platform. We haven’t yet announced what game, but you should assume that it’s one of our bigger games we’ve been involved with.” It is however not clear whether he is referring to the already published titles, or others that have yet to make their debut in the market.
In addition, Jorgensen said that a speech concerning the success or failure that Switch will experience is rather premature at this point. “We’re excited for Nintendo, it’s an interesting device, but I can’t yet predict how broad it’s going to be, and will people be interested in a portable device alongside their regular portable device that they have,” said Jorgensen, who then seem to see Switch with a view more handled console.
Recall that Nintendo Switch will arrive in the spring of 2017.
