Hitman and Dying Light Ex-Devs Will Work on Cyberpunk 2077
CD Projekt RED, a studio known for its work in The Witcher saga, expanded its development force to work better in Cyberpunk 2077, its new project. It did this by founding a new studio based in Wroclaw, Poland.
The new development team will be called CD Projekt RED Wroclaw and will work hand in hand with CD Projekt RED Warsaw and CD Projekt RED Cracow to “reinforce” the development of Cyberpunk 2077. According to the official announcement, Wroclaw will be made up of 18 talented veterans of the industry that used to work in Strange New Things, a studio founded by creatives who worked in The Witcher, Hitman and Dying Light.
“Wrocław is one of the biggest and most technologically advanced cities in Poland and a playing field for serious creative talent. I think the scope of our current and future projects, as well as the overall package we’re bringing in, will pull in people who were hesitant to move to Warsaw or Cracow,” said Adam Kiciński, the president and CEO of CD Projekt Capital Group. “The founding dev team of CDPR Wrocław is already pretty stellar, but I still can’t wait to see what talents we’ll discover in new people along the way.”
In other news, new rumors indicate that Cyberpunk 2077 could be shown in E3 2018; keep in mind that CD Projekt RED already confirmed its attendance at the event, so it is not unreasonable to think that it could be true. On the other hand, recent statements from the developer made many think that this RPG could also reach next-generation platforms.
