Within the frame of PAX West, Gearbox Software announced Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary Edition World Tour title that will feature a new episode which consists of 8 levels created by the original designers of Duke Nukem 3D.
So, Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary Edition World Tour lets you play with the original graphics of 1996 or with some updated images and improvements in frames per second. In addition, the game also includes new music composed by the original sound designer of Duke Nukem 3D, and new lines that will be voiced by Jon St. John, who has previously interpreted Duke. The title will also be accompanied by comments from developers.
Randy Pitchford, president of Gearbox Software, said in a statement to the press that “When I first moved out to Texas to join the Duke Nukem 3D development team in the mid-nineties, I could not possibly predict that we were all going to be part of the emergence of the 3D First Person videogame genre that would ultimately impact the entire videogame industry.”
“Making it possible for Allen, Richard, Lee and Jon to all come back together 20 years later to bring a whole new episode to the classic game is just one of those rare and incredible things that I hope will bring joy and happiness to hardcore videogame fans new and old,” said the studio.
Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary Edition World Tour will debut on October 11 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC for $19.99 USD. Watch the teaser trailer of the title below:
