Nintendo of Japan and Square-Enix have announced that Dragon Quest X will arrive on Nintendo Switch during this autumn in Japan. In the same period, the Japanese publisher will discontinue support for the Wii version, offering a free upgrade to all owners of the game.
After confirming that Dragon Quest XI is in development for Nintendo Switch, during the Nintendo Direct today, Square Enix has announced that the previous episode of the series, Dragon Quest X, will arrive on the hybrid console this fall.
The launch window, which goes to formalize the news a few weeks ago, naturally refers to the Japanese market: can we see the game in the west before the end of the year? This is the big question.
For the moment there are no other details about the title, Dragon Quest X will also be released soon on PlayStation 4, it is unclear whether the two editions will see the light at the same time or not.
Also, be aware that players on Wii U will be able to transfer their data for free (limited campaign for a while).
At the time of this writing, the publisher did not disclose anything about the eventual launch in the west.
Dragon Quest X is the title of Square Enix that was born on Wii U, 3DS and PC, and which is about to settle on PlayStation 4 and Switch.
